Michal Kluvanek was born in Czechoslovakia in a small town on the Hungarian border in 1954.He came to Australia in 1967 with his family at the age of twelve. (At that time it seemed to be a generous place to me).

Michal established a photographic practice in 1979 and moved to the studio in Dew st. Thebarton in 1989.He has an arts and commercial practice and has worked on collaborative and solo projects and has fulfilled commissions in both the public and private arenas. His work is represented in public and private collections.
He has taught at the tertiary level.

He is interested in the local and particular as is appropriate for a photographer. He has participated in the projects of The Thebarton Community Arts Network.
He has been a Section #1 member since its inception in 1996.

 
         
    Amanda Andlee Poland is an Adelaide based artist, born in Melbourne in 1958.

Her practice explores gendered identity and autobiography expressed in diverse media ranging from large-scale installations to photography, painting and printmaking. Much of her most recent work is photo based. She has exhibited consistently, in group shows since completing her Masters in Visual Arts at University of South Australia in 1995.

Since 1996 Amanda has been part of the Section#1 artists’ group. She has work in public and private collections throughout Australia.
 
         
    Margaret Sanders was born in WA and worked as a historian before studying Printmaking at the ANU Institute of the Arts in Canberra.
Margaret has lived in Adelaide since 1994 where she has been involved in a range of community arts and curatorial projects which have concerned print and paper-based art works.

Her recent work has been a series of investigations of the dry country of southern Australia, Across the Mallee, (2002) On the Sandplain, (2004) Floribundant, (2005) and Extant (2006).
These engraved linoprints detail the patterns of the indigenous (Kwongan) vegetations of southern Western Australia with aspects of settlement and landscape change.
